1. INTRODUCTION OF DAT/D&T CURRICULUM

Learning to work safely
Introduction
- Safety must be considered at all times.
- If you are considered by others to be tidy, and prepared to 'ask if unsure', you should be a reasonably safe person.
- Remember that an eye or an arm cannot be replaced.
Rules (Don't)
- Do not enter the workshop without teachers' permission or supervision.
- Do not run in the workshop.
- Do not fool about in the workshop.
- Do not interfere with other people's work.
- Do not eat or drink in the workshop.

General Rules
- Follow the instructions by teachers or technicians. Sit according to the arrangement of teachers.
- Do you know where the emergency buttons are located?
- Extra special care needs to be taken with your eyes -- Protect them with GOGGLES.
- Wear an apron and appropriate footwear.
- Loose clothing and jewellery must either be removed or tucked in.
- If you have long hair, it will need to be tied up.
- Wear gloves when necessary.
